Terms of Service

Last updated: 22 August 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using SkyFactor — including the desktop client, the operations dashboard (my.skyfactor.dpdns.org), the stats site (stats.skyfactor.dpdns.org), and the backend API — you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Nature of the service

SkyFactor is a virtual, non-commercial flight-simulation project. It is a hobbyist platform for entertainment and community use. It is not certified, endorsed by, or affiliated with any real airline, air-navigation service provider, aviation authority, or any manufacturer of the flight-simulation software or add-ons it integrates with.

SkyFactor is not for real-world navigation or flight operations. Nothing in the client, dispatch output, ATC guidance, or AI companion may be used for actual aviation purposes.

3. Accounts and sign-in

You may sign in using a supported identity provider (Discord, Google, VATSIM, or IVAO). You are responsible for maintaining the security of the account you sign in with. One account may be linked across providers. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.

Your callsign, rating, and provider identity are stored and may be shown to other users of the service (for example, on the fleet map or stats pages).

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. Content you create

Flight plans, dispatch briefings, ATC sessions, and other data you create remain yours, and you grant SkyFactor a non-exclusive licence to store, display, and process it in order to operate the service (for example, showing filed plans on the dispatch view or aggregate stats).

6. Third-party services and data

Features that use third-party services (SimBrief, VATSIM, IVAO, Navigraph, Discord, Google) are subject to those services' own terms and availability. SkyFactor is not responsible for third-party outages or for the accuracy of third-party data such as public network feeds or navigation databases. Live network data is provided "as is" for entertainment use.

7. Availability and changes

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable for any loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to accounts that breach these terms or that harm the service or other users. You may stop using the service at any time and may request deletion of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SkyFactor and its maintainers are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of data, arising out of or in connection with the service.
